Language is one of the essential foundations of human identity and a deep expression of belonging.To preserve it is to preserve who we are. The Lebanese language is not merely a tool for communication; it is a living memory, a reflection of our daily lives, and a profound component of our collective personality.It is in this spirit that the “Thousand Words” dictionary was born, the first step in an ambitious linguistic and cultural project. This new kind of dictionary brings together the words most commonly used in everyday life, transcribed in the Lebanese script and accompanied by translations into French and English.The aim of this work is clear: to safeguard our linguistic heritage so that it is not lost, like so many words that disappeared throughout history, once written on paper or carried on the tongues of our ancestors, then erased by time and forgetfulness. This effort is not intended to freeze the language; on the contrary, it seeks to place it within a living framework of knowledge, research, and openness, allowing it to evolve with the world around it.
