Israel’s Eternal Covenant by Robert M Pill

The nation of Israel began with the relationship between Yehovah and Abraham, established through a series of covenants sealing that relationship. The covenants made by Yehovah to Abraham and his descendents are eternal! When I started writing “Israel’s Eternal Covenant,” I was struck with thinking about the idea of the Cohen Gadol, the Jewish High Priest. “The Cohen Gadol” was my first working title. I prayed often about not only should I continue writing but also for continuing insights into what to write. In the process, I covered many topics, and I intended to modify ideas from a previous chapter when beginning a new one.In the first chapter, “The Eternal Covenant,” I stressed the covenant of circumcision made between Yehovah and Abraham! I noted that Isaac was the first son born under the covenant, conceived after Abraham was circumcised at the age of 99. The Israelite people, through succession of circumcised males, are the progenitors of that covenant of circumcision. The rest of the ordered chapter titles are “The Cohen Gadol,” “Abrahamic Religion,” Ancient Prophecy,” “Head Of Gold,” “Judges, Kings, Prophets,” “Seek Yehovah,” “The Kingdom Of Heaven,” “The End Of The Matter,” and “Epilogue.”In the Epilogue, I summarize the chapters. I conclude with statements about the seventh-day Sabbath: “Keeping the seventh-day Sabbath is the acknowledgement and recognition that Yehovah is the One True God, and there is no other. Recognizing any other day than the seventh day as the Sabbath should be considered to be an expression of worshipping a different God!”I end with Deuteronomy 10:12-14, “And now, Israel what doth Yehovah thy God require of thee, but to fear Yehovah thy God, to walk in His ways, and to love Him, and to serve Yehovah thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul; to keep the commandments of Yehovah, and His statutes, which I command thee this day, for thy good? Behold, unto Yehovah thy God belongeth the heaven, and the heaven of heavens, the earth, with all that therein is.”
