The Many Moods of a Woman is a poetic journey of self-discovery. The stories told throughout these pages highlight our unique experiences within the elements of love, hurt, pleasure, and pain. Women love hard and will ride for the people we genuinelycare about. At times, we put ourselves in situations we know are not good for us, and instead of walking away, we try to find the good in relationships we know are toxic. But that type of love is often complicated, which can create moments of self-doubt and leave us feeling unworthy of the true love we deserve. Women are hurt repeatedly and yet we find the strength to bounce back, becoming stronger and more resilient each time. Once women learn to love themselves first, we experience pleasure on another level. That self-love takes us so high it creates an indescribable euphoric state within. Though we sometimes mistake euphoria for love, it’s a fantasy that’s being lived out loud in our minds. Experiencing motherhood, however, takes love to another level and changes our thought process completely. Most of the time, motherhood elevates the love we have for ourselves and has us thinking differently about people and the world around us. Women also experience pain and hurt through relationships and society’s views of how others see us, thereby transforming into how they treat us. Through all the hurt and pain, there is some balance in experiencing pleasure, as well as giving our lives more balance when all the elements of love, hurt, pleasure, and pain come together. Through all the adversity women face, we also can celebrate the true essence of womanhood, highlighting our victories as we rise above our tragedies.
